At Beyond, we know how important it is to allow time for our employees to rest and relax to take care of their mental health — especially at the end of an unconventional year like 2021. So, we decided it was time for a break. From Dec 27-31, 2021 Beyond closed for the full week to allow our employees time to recharge and enjoy the holidays.
Now that we are back, refreshed and ready for the new year, we checked in with a few Beyonders to see how they spent their time off. From traveling around the world to spending quality time with family and friends, here is what we got up to over the break:
Kam Bain, Director of Strategy
My family spent Christmas and NYE in snowy Park City. It snowed many feet and for most of the holiday. We explored Main Street, took my 2.5-year-old sledding for the first time, and built our own Frosty the Snowman.
Mariah Hammer, Engineering Manager
My family had our annual gingerbread house tradition with my mom and son. Even the windows are edible!

I traveled to the south of France and stayed in this vacation rental!

My family spent our time in Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita! We saw some whales, hiked around, went to the botanical gardens, admired the art, soaked up the amazing sunshine, and drank margaritas at sunset! (And of course, ate everything in sight) 🌞 We had a blast!

My girlfriend Kelsey and I went to Big Bear Lake, CA!

We escaped the cold and took the kids to Miami Beach, where, in between the ocean and pool, they ate a metric ton of ice cream.

My fiance and I spent some much-needed quality time with both of our families in Park City and took a fun detour with the pups through southern Utah, northern Arizona, and Las Vegas on our way to San Diego.

We spent some time in the Côte d’Azur, South France, visiting Cagnes, Nice, Monaco, Menton, and a pit stop in Italy. Here are some photos we took in Menton, Monaco and a pic with this huge Christmas Tree in front of the Casino de Monte Carlo. We stayed at a little village built in the 10th century nearby, overlooking Monaco. 🌞
