In our latest Going Beyond blog post, our series that aims to show what it’s really like to work at Beyond, we spoke to Hannah English to learn more about her experience on the Beyond team and our upcoming conference season!
Hannah is an Event & Field Marketing Manager - she discusses her journey to Beyond, her experience, and what she loves most about being part of our dynamic company.
How long have you been at Beyond and what is your role?
I joined Beyond in March of 2024 and I am our Event and Field Marketing Manager.
How has your experience been during the onboarding process?
I’ve got to say that Beyond has created one of the best onboarding experiences that I’ve experienced. On day one, I was provided a robust onboarding document, highlighting the important meetings I’d be joining, a list of the teammates I should meet with, and core reading material to familiarize myself with both our product offering and the short-term rental industry.
What I found especially helpful was a list of focus areas for my first 90 days. Starting a new job can be daunting, especially when trying to learn a new industry and a new product, while also wanting to dive into the day-to-day responsibilities of the role. My manager did a great job of breaking down my ramp period into digestible and attainable goals, giving me a very clear understanding of what I should be accomplishing each week.
Our internal enablement hub is also one of the best I’ve ever experienced (shoutout to Ana, our Enablement Manager!). Our training hub is full of amazing courses - data certifications, product knowledge deep dives, customer profiles and more.
What are your main responsibilities with respect to events in the industry?
As the event and field marketing manager, I’m responsible for managing our global event calendar, which includes external trade shows, hosted roadshows and webinars. My main responsibilities for industry events include planning, organizing, and making sure everything runs smoothly. I handle everything coordinating logistics and working with partners to make sure we're all on the same page. A big part of my role is ensuring we make a strong impression, build relationships with key players, and deliver value to everyone involved. After the event, I review how things went and look for ways to improve for next time.
What event will you be attending first?
We actually just launched our first roadshow, so I had the pleasure of meeting some of our great customers in Miramar Beach, Gulf Shores, and Myrtle Beach. I’ll be heading to Phoenix in October for the VRMA International show with a lot of the team!
What is your favorite part about working at Beyond?
The people and our flexibility in how we show up to work. This is the first time I’ve worked for a global organization, so I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to connect with my teammates around the globe, learn more about their cultures, and navigate the challenges that come with time zones :).
I also really enjoy the flexible working environment. While I spend the majority of my time working from home, I love having an office in Chicago that I can come to to work and hang out with coworkers.
